GOVERNANCE
AIPIO CODE OF ETHICS
As professional intelligence officers, members of the Australian Institute of Professional Intelligence Officers (AIPIO) are individually and collectively responsible for maintaining the highest standards of probity, integrity and conduct.
This Code of Ethics provides standards to shape desirable professional behavior.
Respect
To promote recognition of and respect for the intelligence profession, its body of knowledge, and distinctive practices.
Diligence
To undertake professional responsibilities diligently and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Honesty
To display intellectual honesty and rigour that reflect positively on the product, practitioner and profession, as well as gain stakeholder support.
Compliance
To foster compliance with these standards across the intelligence profession and within work environments.
Collegiality
To adopt a collegiate approach built on trust and respect arising from, and the extension of professional courtesies to other intelligence officers. Development – to pursue professional development and embrace innovation in intelligence praxis.
Other approved support as may be deemed necessary to achieve the desired outomes.
